Located in the heart of the historic centre of La Rochelle, this charming building represented a total renovation project on which I worked as interior architect for a developer specialising in prestige property restoration in La Rochelle. We took into account every detail to subtly blend the traditional character of the building with modern elements. Particular attention was paid to the restoration of the facade, with work such as hydrogumming, stonework and renovation of the stained glass windows aimed at preserving the authenticity of the building while giving it a new lease of life. To maximise the use of space, we divided the building into several distinct lots. This approach made it possible to offer a variety of residences, each adapted to the specific needs of the occupants, while ensuring efficient management of the space. Inside, our aim has been to optimise every square metre, offering interior layouts that combine functionality and aesthetics. We created an high-en atmosphere, with the emphasis on meticulous finishes and exclusive fittings. Creating photo-realistic renderings for 3D projection was an important step in our process. These images allowed potential customers to visualise the final appearance of the project, helping them to project themselves into their future living space. In short, this refurbishment project took a pragmatic and attentive approach to the needs of the occupants, while highlighting the luxurious character of the building. As an interior architect, I sought to create spaces that reflected the balance between past and present, offering an exceptional living experience in the heart of La Rochelle.

We were approached by a wealth management company to design an empty office located at a strategic crossroads between Anglet and Biarritz. Our primary objective was to establish a warm, welcoming yet sophisticated ambiance, while revitalizing the workspace. Circulation was a key factor in ensuring discretion for the office's future clients. We achieved this by maintaining an open layout for the main area, while visually dividing it with screens, colors, and contrasting materials. The selection of a deep blue hue provides an authentic, chic, and vibrant character to the entire space.

The attic apartment is a project involving the redistribution of volumes. My brief was to create an outdoor space, while retaining 3 bedrooms and a generous living area. This was the challenge I took up in converting this T4 attic flat in Poitiers. We had to restore the view over the gardens and bring light into the heart of the flat. After several sketches, the shower room was placed at the heart of the flat between the two dividing load-bearing walls, optimizing the night area which is divided into 3 bedrooms. By incorporating an opening, it benefits from natural light from the new terrace. A platform running from the bathroom through the corridor to the WC provides access to the water supply and drainage systems. The creation of the terrace allows the addition of openings at eye level, creating a new perspective that was missing from the existing design. As a result, each room is bathed in sunlight, either by direct light or by indirect daylight for the bathroom. The flows are fluid and transversal, reorganizing the day and night spaces. Tailor-made furniture are integrated to meet specific needs while adding character. Here, touches of color create a warm and playful whole.

Originally an old, decrepit barn, but full of potential. The brief was to create a new living space, and given the beauty of the place I wanted to enhance what was already there. The concept developed was that of a cube within a cube, creating floating living spaces to enhance the envelope. To achieve this, the barn had to be insulated from the outside, in order to protect it from the elements but also to leave it untouched from the inside. The decision was to keep the entire volume without partitioning, with only the kitchen leaning against the perimeter wall. The living room, dining room, kitchen and spare office are all in dialogue with each other, sometimes linked, sometimes separated.

The Futuroscope approached us for a new hotel project: the Ecolodgee. An order for 120 Lodges on 3.5 hectares, which raised questions about the ecological goals of tiny houses and eco-cabins, emphasizing a playful experience. To address this, we needed a concept that was eloquent and magical enough to align with the strong imagination of Futuroscope. I thought of Komorebi: an untranslatable Japanese term meaning 'the sunlight filtering through the leaves of a tree.' A phenomenon that captivates both young and old during every forest walk. With a significant context of noise and visual disturbances, I delineated a space, encircling the plot, dedicated to dense vegetation to create an insulating edge, trimming the already narrow terrain. I then divided my project into 2 levels to have an imprint of only 40 lodges per level. While refining my concept, I noticed an affinity with Mayer's Metropol Parasol project in Seville and Junya Ishigami's KAIT campus project in Kanagawa. The latter, speaking of his project, says: 'The plaza emphasizes more on how time should be spent, rather than specifically dictating how space should be used.' This echoes my desire to focus on strolling, to lengthen the time between attractions and the hotel, and to replicate the path taken during a nature walk. I transformed the idea of a forest into a supporting structure: the trunks become structural posts, and the foliage becomes platforms. These platforms are composed of openings, allowing the reproduction of Komorebi, illuminating the ground floor. The lodges would be made of rammed earth concrete, 3D-printed, with chestnut shingle roofs, vernacular to the region. The octagonal shape allows a panoramic view of the vegetation and blends with the trunks, harmonizing the whole. The structure is entirely suspended, offering a contrasting experience with the park: visitors retreat into an intimate, complex, and monumental vessel. The hustle and bustle of the day give way to a crystalline sensation, outside of time.

Located on the harbour front of La Rochelle, in the tourist hot spot of La Rochelle, this 26m² studio apartment has undergone a major transformation. The client, who had just bought the flat, which had been abandoned since the 1950s, contacted us to completely re-imagine it. To start with, we had to reinforce the floor, insulate from floor to ceiling and update the anachronistic pipes. A platform was created to integrate the pipes for the walk-in shower, but also to create a built-in bed on wheels to make the most of the living space facing the marina. Noble materials such as marble and wood combined with natural colors harmonise the whole.
